As part of our strategic growth ambitions in APAC, Morrow Sodali have established a corporate communications practice based in Australia.
The offering is the first of its kind for the business and will extend on our robust capabilities across shareholder engagement, ESG, sustainability, proxy solicitation, corporate governance, capital markets intelligence, investor relations, financial communications, shareholder activism and mergers and acquisitions.
The practice will be spearheaded by Susan Redden Makatoa, who is widely regarded as one of APAC’s leading corporate communicators. Prior to joining the Morrow Sodali business, Susan held the role as Executive Vice President of the Edelman corporate communications practice across APAC and was chief counsel to some of the world’s best-known brands and businesses.
Speaking to the announcement, Morrow Sodali CEO International Christian Sealey comments;
"Susan’s experience in guiding clients through the challenges they face is a very rare commodity. She is also a skilled leader, and we will be investing further to build a team around Susan which, combined our broader offering, will allow us to deepen our partnerships with new and existing clients."
The newly-created practice will allow Morrow Sodali to support clients with 360 degree stakeholder engagement and navigate the ever-changing and complex nature of business both in Australia and overseas.
With a remit spanning both listed and private entities, the corporate communications offering will include strategy and planning, brand profiling and reputation management, stakeholder mapping and engagement, CSR, media training and executive coaching, integrated campaigns and thought leadership.
In recent years, the heightened regulatory and reporting requirements for businesses, coupled with increasing shareholder expectations, has seen an increased need for cross-functional teams who have deep roots in their respective spaces, says Redden Makatoa.
"We‘re here to work in concert with our Morrow Sodali colleagues to help our clients navigate an increasingly complex landscape. You can expect honest, considered counsel aligned with your business goals."
