The IoD Centre for Corporate Governance has published a new report, "Governance and Innovation: Report of findings", exploring the impact of the UK’s governance arrangements on innovation.
The report, produced with the support of Morrow Sodali and Board Intelligence, identifies the most relevant factors that boards should consider so that the company’s detailed governance arrangements encourage rather than constrain innovation, as well as characteristics that are common to successfully innovative companies of all sizes and sectors.
This report comes at a time when the government has signaled a focus on innovation. In a recent speech, the Prime Minister stated that innovation is “a defining focus of my government” and committed to creating “the most pro-innovation regulatory environment in the world”.
