Aerie Pharmaceuticals Inc., a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of therapies for the treatment of patients with glaucoma and other diseases of the eye, was acquired by Alcon (NYSE: ALC), a Swiss-American pharmaceutical and medical device company specializing in eye care products, for $930 million.
