New World Development Company Limited (17.HK), a Hong Kong-based company focused on property, hotels, infrastructure services, and department stores, proposed the disposal of 60.88% of shares in NWS Holdings (659.HK), a conglomerate with a diversified portfolio of market-leading businesses, including toll roads, insurance, logistics, construction, and facilities management. The disposal is valued at approximately HK$21 billion, part of the HK$35 billion Voluntary General Cash Offer made by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited, the flagship private investment holding company of the Cheng Family and is part of the group of companies under the “Chow Tai Fook” name, founded by the Cheng Family in 1929.
