The IR Magazine Winter 2021 edition includes their annual proxy season preview featuring Morrow Sodali's Jonathan Harker, Senior Director, Head of Account Management – EMEA.
The preview looks at the issues that could play a big role in next year’s annual meeting seasons around the world. Jonathan shares his views on the UK proxy season including the ascent of director accountability in relation to remuneration practice and policy, and the importance of ESG issues such as sustainability and diversity which are driving investors and proxy advisors’ guidelines. These issues are forcing boards to realign their corporate governance methods to ensure that they are equipped to achieve the oversight and delivery of these goals. He also discusses the impact of the pandemic on the 2021 proxy season and how this will continue in the next year.
