Head of Data, Analytics and AI
Brett Miller is Sodali & Co’s Global Head of Data, Analytics and AI. He has a proven track record of building sophisticated data infrastructures and driving research to inform investment decision making. He specializes in the intersection of Data & Analytics, Financial Markets, and Corporate Governance.
Most recently, Brett served as the Head of Data Analytics for Investment Stewardship at BlackRock. In this capacity, he oversaw and was responsible for developing the Investment Stewardship data infrastructure, including developing advanced analyst tooling crucial for informing engagement strategies, prioritizing company outreach, and screening for high-priority corporate governance issues. Brett also supported systematic research for BlackRock's systematic franchise where he co-authored numerous quantitative investment signals driving capital allocation decisions.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Brett led the Governance Data Business at ISS ESG. Here, he closely collaborated with investors across all strategies to integrate high-quality governance data into their decision-making processes. Brett also managed the methodology for the company’s flagship Governance risk rating model ISS Governance QualityScore (GQS).
Brett previously worked in the corporate advisory arm of ISS Corporate Solutions (ICS), where he built leading analytics products for executive compensation and governance clients. In this role, Brett also served in a client facing role as an advisor on executive compensation matters and was responsible for the quarterly board reporting for all clients - delivering thousands of customized insights for clients.
As a recognized authority in the field, Brett’s expertise on corporate governance and executive compensation has been regularly cited in major news publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Bloomberg, as well as academic research. Brett attended the Schreyer’s Honors college at Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a degree in Political Science.
