Stephen leads our Financial Communications Practice in APAC, advising Executives and Boards at some of Australia’s leading publicly listed and privately held companies. With over 20 years of experience in media and corporate communications, he is a trusted advisor on reputation management, complex transactions, and stakeholder engagement.
Before joining Sodali & Co, Stephen was Head of External Relations at AustralianSuper, where he managed the Fund’s media strategy and positioning, including during significant M&A activity such as the successful opposition to Brookfield’s takeover of Origin Energy and the acquisition of substantial infrastructure assets.
Stephen began his career as a journalist and spent over two decades in senior editorial roles in Ireland and Australia, including as a business and political editor for major national publications. Known for his calm under pressure, strong ethical compass, and loyalty, Stephen deeply understands media, public perception, and strategic communication in every engagement.
