The M&A Conference 2025

23 Sep 2025 Conference

The M&A Conference is the destination for deal-making discussions in Australia. Hosted by three of Australia’s leading law firms – Allens, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, and King & Wood Mallesons – this annual event is held in partnership with The Australian Financial Review and in support of the Black Dog Institute.
The conference provides a platform for lead dealmakers from Australian and international shores to share insights from the past year and discuss emerging opportunities. It offers a comprehensive analysis of the current deal landscape, market dynamics and trends.
Brett Clegg, Senior Managing Director, will be speaking on 23 September in Melbourne (Day 2) and 25 September in Sydney (Day 3) at 3:00 pm AEST in Session 1: Private vs Public Markets Evolution and the Impact on M&A. Australia’s capital markets are evolving, with structural shifts prompting fresh thinking around dealmaking. This session will delve into the shifting balance between public and private markets, the rise of new investor dynamics, and the evolving shape of the modern share register. Philippa Stone, Partner, HSF Kramer, will lead a sharp and practical discussion with seasoned investors and advisers on what these changes mean for M&A strategy today.
Both events will be held in person and are available by invitation only.
