This article, published by Consejeros, highlights the latest findings from the Sodali 40 Activist Ownership Analysis. The report depicts an activist landscape that is becoming more concentrated, methodical and global, with leading funds steering corporate strategy across technology, finance and industry. It also notes a renewed role for SPACs as vehicles for sector consolidation and flags emerging governance challenges.
According to the analysis, corporate activism in 2025 is undergoing a structural reset. Activist funds are channelling capital into specific segments - chiefly industrials (23.7%), followed by technology (16.4%) and financials (15.8%) - which together absorb more than half of all activist investment. This shift reflects a clear focus on companies with revaluation potential and operational upside, where activists see opportunities to unlock value and reshape management and governance structures.
