Morrow Sodali appoints new APAC CEO

Morrow Sodali, the world’s leading governance and shareholder engagement consultancy, has today announced the appointment of Christian Sealey as CEO APAC, effective 1 July 2020.

The appointment underscores the firm’s continued growth both in Australia and across Asia and will see Christian take over from industry veteran, Maria Leftakis, who has led the firm since its inception in 2006. Ms Leftakis will become Chair of Morrow Sodali APAC and continue to work closely with Christian and the senior leadership team on strategy and business development.

Ms Leftakis said she was delighted with Christian’s appointment, saying it represented the culmination of a considered succession planning process over the past few years.

“The Board and I are very pleased with achieving this important milestone. Over the past two years Christian has played an integral role in the development of Morrow Sodali’s APAC business strategy and expansion,” Ms Leftakis said.

 “He is a key member of Morrow Sodali’s global executive team and contributes an impressive track record in assisting our listed company clients successfully manage complex governance and stakeholder engagement issues. I have complete confidence in Christian’s leadership to help take our business to the next level.

 “After 14 years as CEO, I am looking forward to my new role as Chair where I can direct my 25 years of industry experience in a more strategic manner and continue to support Christian and the Global Executive Team with our exciting growth prospects.”
