"If we look at the Italian market, during last years there has been a significant increase in the activism phenomenon which partly mirrorrs what happened in other markets," commented Giacomo Fiorenzi from Morrow Sodali on Top Legal Review.
"If we look at the phenomenon in more detail, we can see that a form of activism which can be described as 'moderate' has been present in Italy for quite some time. By benefitting from the slate voting system, Italian funds and Assogestioni have been able to attract international funds' interest in the attempt of appointing independent directors representing minorities."
